Devlog #4 - Moth Planet Updates! New Projects! Alpha Soon!


Hello moth enjoyers! It’s been a while since we shared some news regarding the development of Moth Planet. Well, rejoice for we do have exciting news!

So What’s This About A New Project?

Well, we can’t really talk about it just yet, but it will involve more bugs and spaceships!

In late August we were made aware of a new local grant that would be, well, granted to game developers where part of our team resides.

Looking forward to try to get 👏 that 👏 investment 👏 we worked on a pitch for a new game that would attend to the grant’s requirements and demands, while of course being something we wanted to make!

Working on the grant application and the project pitch, along with gathering all the required documentation took a lot of attention and time, and so development on Moth Planet got delayed for a little bit.

If we get the grant, we’ll be starting work on this new project in January! This also means that the final, full release of Moth Planet will arrive before the end of the year!

No Way Moth Planet Before New Years?

Yes you heard it correctly folks! With this grant stuff resolved we could focus and redouble our efforts on finishing Moth Planet! We are working hard on getting the Alpha ready for public testing.

What are we putting in the Alpha? This alpha is mostly a sandbox to present the main elements we believe are necessary to finish development. Gameplay wise, it’s a gauntlet for players to test the mechanics and make sure everything is working, it may be shorter in content than the Pre-Alpha we published a few months ago, as we are hoping to showcase all the new features we'll use for the rest of the game and get as much feedback as possible.  Meanwhile the following Beta will be much closer to what we may present in final release, we expect the Beta's content to be extended towards our free demo prior to release.

We aim to release the Alpha build THIS MONTH! So keep an eye out (and PLEASE send us feedback! Pretty please? 🥺)

OK, so what’s NEW in this alpha build?

How about some stuff like:

• A WHOLE MAP THAT UPDATES WITH YOUR INTERVIEW PROGRESS?


• SAVING AND RESUMING YOUR GAME?


• NEW AREAS WITH NEW POTENTIAL DANGERS?


• … and a few aesthetic adjustments, bug fixes, QoL improvements, controller remapping, and other stuff!
